Questions

How much does Google Workspace setup cost for a nonprofit?

A fixed $6,500 with Lifehouse Development, agreed in writing before work starts. It covers the application, domain and email, shared drives, moving your mail and files, and training. Google's licence is free for eligible nonprofits.

Is Google Workspace really free for nonprofits?

Yes. The nonprofit edition is free for up to 2,000 users with 100 TB of pooled storage, and it does not expire. Paid editions start at $3 per user per month, paid to Google directly.

Can we set it up ourselves?

Often, yes. A handful of people with nothing to move can follow Google's wizard and our free guides. Paying makes sense when there are years of mail and files to move, or nobody with the time to own it.

Can you move us from Microsoft 365 or our web host's email?

Yes. Everything is copied across while your current email keeps running, then the domain switches on a date you choose. If Microsoft's own nonprofit plan is working for you, we will usually tell you to stay.

How long does it take?

Four to six weeks from the first call to handover. Your current email keeps working the whole time, and you get the schedule in writing before we start.

Do churches qualify?

Yes, with 501(c)(3) status, either your own IRS determination letter or a denominational group exemption.

Who owns the account afterwards?

You do. The admin account, the domain, and every file belong to the organization. We do not resell licences, and our access is removed at handover unless you ask us to keep it.

Can a grant pay for this?

Often. Capacity-building grants routinely fund a defined technology project, and a fixed price with a written scope can go straight into an application.
